In my experience and how particular I like to be when setting up for an event, I must say I do love setting up my own theming for events. My personal approach to each event and the creativity and care that is put into each one sometimes feels like a baby I have given birth to.
After creating the concept and design in my mind I can clearly see what it is I want the event space to look and feel like, and it can be difficult to pass this 'visual' on to your event team. I have now started to create and develop for each event 'a story book'. This can sometimes be just a few pieces of paper that I have scribed away on - a basic floor plan and the colour and kind of props I have in mind or clippings that I have collected from magazines or even sometimes a combination of all of the above. I hope that this simple tool of collating my thoughts and vision into real objects will give my event team the 'a ha' moment when they are setting up for the event.
