Actually ‘happily ever after’ requires military precision planning. If you have been involved in a wedding you will know everything has to be perfect – invites, menu, music, photographers, entertainment, celebrants, bridal party and most important location.

The list is endless and making a start on the planning is a bit daunting. I’m not going to tell you how to plan a wedding…no, no, no, but I am going to tell you some of the best spots in Queensland to tie the knot.

My own wedding started out dreaming big however ended in a lovely intimate service on the beach – which got me thinking where are the best spots in Queensland to get hitched.

Top 10 inspiring locations:

1. Boomerang Farm, Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast – Getting hitched in a tree house sound like your ideal wedding?

2. Rainbow Beach, Sunshine Coast - A merging of mother nature - blue skies and dramatic colored sand cliffs.

3. Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm - A sweet, yet simple industrial rustic look.

4. Hayman Island, The Whitsundays – Breathtaking views and colours.

5. Paronella Park, Tropical North Queensland - Rainforest? Tick. Waterfalls? Tick. Spanish style castle? Tick.

6. Jimbour Station, Toowoomba – Intimate cozy country plane hangar.

7. O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, Gold Coast Hinterland - Say ‘I do’ on the edge of a cliff, by a bubbling brook or even a vineyard.

8. Customs House, Brisbane -The red carpet makes for an elegant entrance.

9. Kenilworth Homestead, Sunshine Coast – If you like trees this location is for you.

10. Whitsunday Rent a Yacht, Whitsunday Islands – You’re on a boat need I say more.
