Whether it’s a corporate event, fundraiser or a new product launch, entertainment is a must. Be it in the form of a magician or a 12 piece orchestra. It’s literally the make or break of your event…along with the catering and venue of course. 

Staying with the food theme again this week. I have a new trend for you; well they have been around for sometime but all of a sudden gotten very popular. Step aside buffets and food stations, there’s a new catering trend in town – food trucks!  I love, love the idea of this type of catering and the casual feel of guests being able to head to a van select their favourite hot dish off the menu and chow down on picnic tables.

Now, I love a good buffet as everyone will agree, however being an event planner and catering for an event, especially weddings, do you serve a plated meal or a buffet? For me when deciding there are plenty of factors to consider, but a good rule of thumb is that plated meals are better suited to formal events. Leave the buffet to the larger people…I mean larger events.

I know I keep saying this, but one of my New Year resolutions is to be inspired and get creative, and this blog is going to be no different.  I want to go all out and look to Las Vegas for a little bit of awesome venue inspiration. I know, I know, Vegas might be a little extreme, but when inspiration is needed; looking at what others are doing around the world may help to think differently and create something unique.

Let’s be honest - most of us are glued to our iphones 24-hours a day and get nervous when we can’t find it. Chances are, if you walk around a convention centre, hotel, café you will see people with their heads down, tapping away furiously on their smartphones.
